The days are getting shorter and the show is getting closer. Here is the poster I made announcing the show:
November 9th – 19th in the 5th Floor Gallery of the Utah Valley University Library. The opening is on the 12th from 6 – 8 pm.

That’s Fra-gee-lee for those of you who are not familiar with the reference. Inez and I went to the opening for the Utah Statewide Annual Fine Craft and Photography Show. When we got there we saw Brian Jensen, one of my professors from school who promptly congratulated me. I said “thank you”, and told him that I was really happy to have been accepted into the show. He then asked if I was aware that I had been awarded a “Honorable Mention” for the piece that I submitted, which I wasn’t since we had just arrived. I was really excited to receive the Honorable Mention. I had titled the work “Destination”, but now think I should have named it “Fragile”, ’cause I got a major award
Thank you to those who have been supporting me in this path in life I really appreciate you and your sacrifices.
*Update: I have added pictures to the portfolio pages, even some of the older pages have added pictures.*
The school days are blazing by, they go so fast I do not think there is actually 24 hours in them anymore. I have been working feverishly on my Senior Show. The work was slow at first. I had to work through some problems with the clay body I mixed up. Fortunately I was able to iron out those problems in a relatively short time. Now I am in production mode, trying very hard to not to have any “Artists Blocks”. I also began testing the vitreous engobes I will be using to cover my sculptures with. So far the tests have been pretty successful.
In other news I submitted one of my finished sculptures to the Utah Arts Council: Statewide Annual Fine Crafts and Photography Show. I received notice last week that the statue was accepted to the show, Inez and I will be going to the opening reception on the 16th of October. I am really looking forward to this. Only 1/3 of the submitted pieces were accepted into the show. This is the first show outside of the student shows at the college that I have submitted work to. I will post pictures from the open house.
